Abstract

This paper deals with derivation of the continuous formulations of two step Hybrid Block Simpson’s Methods incorporated with one, two and three off-grid points respectively by multistep collocation method using matrix inversion technique. The discrete schemes were derived through their respective continuous formulations. The convergence and stability analysis of these discrete schemes were investigated. The implementation of these discrete schemes was carried out in block form to solve some first order delay differential equations without interpolation techniques in approximating the delay term. It was observed that the BHSM3 schemes performed better in terms of accuracy than the BHSM2 schemes and BHSM1 schemes respectively when compared with their exact solutions.
